Flexibility

Eliminating rigidity — the any-input/any-output model

Unlike traditional energy infrastructure that requires expensive hardware overhauls to adapt to new needs, Volt Harbor's platform uses firmware changes to dynamically adapt systems — saving significant capital expenditure while maximizing system longevity.

Compatibility

Battery-agnostic flexibility

Our platform works regardless of battery type, allowing businesses to integrate various power sources — including new chemistries or "second-life" (reused) EV batteries — into a single, unified system.

Performance

Performance optimization

By integrating power electronics, energy storage, and intelligent control, we improve overall battery life and provide ultrafast energy response times — squeezing more out of every cell in the system.

Origins

Founded in 2024 by MIT alumni, Volt Harbor was born from a vision to transform traditional energy management through cutting-edge power electronics, energy storage, and machine learning algorithms. Rooted in Ann Arbor, Michigan, our journey began with research at the University of Michigan to develop a breakthrough, software-defined battery energy storage platform. Today, we leverage our deep ties to the local community, the university, and strategic utility partners to turn academic innovation into a scalable reality that modernizes the global grid.

Our Mission

We are an energy delivery company. Grid resilience depends less on how much storage gets built than on how intelligently power moves through it, and the layer with a potential that is untapped is the power electronics. We build that layer together with any battery including giving retired EV packs a second life, and cut waste, footprint, and capital cost in the process.
